Connecting the body and what dresses it
Maria Grazia Chiuri‘s goal for the Dior spring-summer 2025 ready-to-wear collection is to recapitulate the meaning of garments, allowing each model to reveal the work preceding their construction.

Chiuri aims to bring fashion back to its origins and emphasize the relationship between the body and what dresses it. She has reinterpreted cuts from the archives, starting with the Amazone dress by Christian Dior for autumn-winter 1951-1952. The new, graphic line plays on the contrast between black and white, with checks, horizontal and vertical traits celebrating the Miss Dior logo. White pieces are paired with black skirts, pants, and dresses, while bright red accents and embroidery provide shimmering metallic punctuations. Jersey and sports shirts are everyday protagonists in their own right.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 have emphasized gender equality, inclusivity, and respect for one’s limits. Maria Grazia Chiuri invited SAGG Napoli, an artist who uses archery in her work, to perform on the catwalk. Napoli sees fashion as a visual attribute and asserts her athletic shape, tackling the harmonization of body and mind in archery, an ancient discipline.

The collection on the runway exalts the force and assertive power of contemporary femininity on the runway.
