Celebrating Materiality and Craftsmanship
Set to be unveiled during Milan Design Week in April, the ORI table by Christophe Delcourt emerges as a striking exploration of structure, material, and sculptural form. Presented at Fondazione Mudima from April 20–25, 2026, the piece offers a preview of Delcourt’s ongoing dialogue between architecture and furniture design during the upcoming design events in Milan. ✨

Inspired by the analytical clarity of timber-frame study models, ORI translates the logic of construction into a refined yet expressive table. Its architecture unfolds through interlocking elements that read almost like exposed structural joints—each component visibly engaging with the next. The composition is anchored by a monumental top measuring 280 cm in length, resting on a base that balances straight crossbars with gently curved wooden “sails,” creating a dynamic interplay of tension and movement.

Crafted in grey elm with a matte oiled finish, the table celebrates the tactile beauty of wood while emphasizing the precision of joinery. Delcourt’s approach merges structural rigor with sculptural gesture, transforming what could be a purely functional object into a quietly commanding centerpiece.
