Movie and movie stars with Chanel is not a total stranger nor separable. Collaboration began with Gabrielle Chanel, then followed by the legendary Karl Lagerfeld in 1983. Now, This unique connection with the film world continues today under the impetus of Virginie Viard, the Artistic Director of Chanel.

In 2020, from September 4^th-13^th 2020, the 46^th of the Deauville American Film Festival in Cannes, it was the 2^nd year of CHANEL becomes the partner of the prestigious festival.

On and off screen, on the red carpets, in their daily lives or at prestigious events, the biggest actresses continue to acclaim and to embody the allure of CHANEL.

The Naming of Place Gabrielle Chanel in Deauville
On Friday September 11^th 2020, during the 46^th Deauville American Film Festival – that took place from September 4^th to 13^th and of which CHANEL is Partner for the second year running -, a square was named after Gabrielle Chanel. Located on the Deauville peninsula, it pays tribute to the links that have united the coastal resort and the House for more than a century.

The naming of Place Gabrielle Chanel was held in the presence of Bruno Pavlovsky, President of CHANEL’s Fashion activities, Philippe Augier, mayor of Deauville, and the actress, singer and CHANEL ambassador Vanessa Paradis, also President of the Festival Jury this year.
