Chanel Goes Online for Cruise 2020/2021 Collection Presentation

Di tengah pandemi, industri fashion pun mengharuskan diri untuk beradaptasi ke dalam era baru dimana semua serba online. Tidak terkecuali dengan rumah mode internasional Chanel. Bulan Juni 2020 lalu Chanel melaksanakan presentasinya melalui daring. “Initially I had Capri in mind, where the show was supposed to take place, but didn’t happen in the end because of lockdown,” ujar Virginie Viard, Chanel Creative Director.

Terinspirasi dari gemerlap gaya hidup tahun 1960-an, Viard juga menginjeksika koleksi ini dengan keindahan Mediterania, pulau-pulaunya, aromanya, hingga nuansa warna yang ditampilkan. Rancangan kali ini didesain dengan konsep ‘travel-light’ yang mudah dibawa berpergian. Cruise 2020/2021 Collection pun dibuat multifungsi dan mudah untuk dipadupadankan dengan beragam pakaian. Misalnya saja rok panjang yang dapat berubah menjadi gaun saat ditarik ke atas, atau jaket panjang berbahan sifon yang dapat dipakai sebagai outer pakaian renang di siang hari dan outer gaun di malam hari, “and if worn over bare skin, it becomes a déshabill,” tambah sang direktur. Koleksi ini juga menghighlight warna pink bunga bugenvil yang terlihat pada jaket berbahan kulit maupun tweed untuk tampilan lebih chic dan modern.
