Cantori, tales of life

High quality, expressive versatility, design. These are the three pluses that the Cantori style offers its international clientele, tangible elements of the collection presented to visitors at the 61st edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan. A style that reconnects us to the craftsmanship and obstinacy that Cantori has revived in its furniture series since its beginnings in the late 1970s and that still permeate the Marche-based company’s proposals today.

Unadorned, essential lines that distinguish contemporary furnishings with an ageless allure. Connecting elements between past and present such as metal and leather, great protagonists of the new furnishing proposals.

In 2023 Blockbau was born, a system composed of a modular sofa and dormeuse, which together with the Jakie armchairs, is the result of the continuous and fruitful collaboration with architect Maurizio Manzoni. Cloud modular sofa, corner or linear, allows maximum freedom of expression, as does the Vico TV stand bookcase, which with its rigorous and asymmetrical structure is the passepartout for a functional and characterful wall unit. The leather element, a constant in the collaboration with Maurizio Manzoni, is emphasized this year by the new Juliet proposal, a console table with integrated wall.

There are also the proposals designed by the young designer Luca Roccadadria, this year at his third collaboration with Cantori, who creates a line of balanced furniture with a strong craftsmanship value with the Twiggy coffee tables and Rain sideboard and cabinet bar.

These and many other novelties are presented on the stand at the Salone del Mobile in an exhibition continuum with the icons of Cantori‘s tradition, such as the Twist armchair, and the proposals of recent years that are dressed in new finishes and colours to keep faith with one of the company’s intentions: to create a homogeneous collection that over the years will be made up of new elements, standing out for the purity of its lines, and adapting to the most essential architectural environments as well as the most elaborate.

Cantori, in its natural stylistic evolution, has always created furniture that discreetly draws attention to itself with the charm and flair of high craftsmanship. A formula, that of the high craftsmanship of the Marche region, which has proved and continues to prove Cantori right.

TWIGGY
design Luca Roccadadria
Twiggy is a metal and leather coffee table available in two sizes. The three inclined legs of the base highlight a rhythm also accentuated by the three hemispherical cuts on the circumference of the top. The top is upholstered in Italian leather, available in two colours, which creates a warm visual contrast to the cold metal of the base.

RAIN
design Luca Roccadadria
Rain
, designed by Luca Roccadaria, is available in both sideboard and cabinet versions. The structure is made entirely of wood with a black lacquered base and top, and the door fronts are covered in laser-engraved silver sheet metal. The feet are in metal. An example where technology and craftsmanship come together for a surprising result.

VICO
design Maurizio Manzoni
The structure of Vico is made of tubular iron formed by overlapping asymmetrical frames, on one side the bookcase and on the other the TV stand, which can be chosen separate or mirrored. The shelves and drawers are made of lacquered, scratch-resistant wood. The back is made of grey ash with visible grain. The asymmetry and visible structure make it a product where function and aesthetics coexist in perfect balance.

JACKIE
design Maurizio Manzoni
Maurizio Manzoni designs an armchair with an elegant and essential design, formed by a rigorous metal base that supports the seat. Three different blocks placed side by side, separated to give elasticity to the seat, are padded and upholstered in soft fabric. From the same collection there is also the Jackie chair.

BLOCKBAU
design Maurizio Manzoni
Blockbau, inspired by the construction technique with the same name, is not a simple sofa, but an entire modular system with the characteristic side-by-side pattern. Simple metal feet support the structure on which the seating modules, the armrests but also integrated wooden tables are interspersed. The daybed is also available.

CLOUD
Design Maurizio Manzoni
Born from the pencil of Maurizio Manzoni, Cloud is a system of modular sofas which, as the name suggests, is inspired by the roundness of the clouds and their free position in space. A metal “T” structure supports rounded seats and backrests, to be positioned in a personal and creative way. The pouf elements and coffee tables from the same series complete the proposal.

JULIET
Design Maurizio Manzoni
The Juliet console has a pewter treated iron top and a black ash wood structure. The same structure frames a wall panel with mirror and hand-stitched leather. A piece of furniture with an original design that demonstrates the great skill of Cantori‘s craftsmen.
