Light Proportions and Comfort for Everyday Living
Previewing at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, Calia Italia presents Flan, a contemporary sofa shaped by light proportions, refined details, and a focus on everyday comfort. Designed by the brand’s In-House Design Studio, Flan is defined by its compact silhouette and slim lines. Slender 19 cm metal legs gently lift the sofa from the floor, giving the piece a sense of visual lightness while helping it sit naturally within a variety of interior spaces.

A distinctive detail appears in the softly sculpted cushions, shaped like smooth “soap bars,” creating a fluid transition between the seat and the armrests. A delicate pinched seam traces the edges, subtly highlighting the tailored character of the upholstery. The slightly inclined armrests add both comfort and a quiet sense of structure to the design.
Comfort remains central to the piece. The seat combines pocket springs with layers of eco-friendly polyurethane foam, offering balanced support suited to everyday living. Adjustable headrests allow the sofa to shift from a clean, compact profile into a more relaxed and enveloping configuration when needed.

Flan is available in several configurations, including versions up to 240 cm wide and compositions with a chaise longue, allowing it to adapt to different living environments. Inside, a wooden frame padded with polyurethane foam reflects Calia Italia’s long-standing attention to durability and ergonomic comfort.
More than just a sofa, Flan reflects the brand’s approach to contemporary living — where craftsmanship, functionality, and comfort meet in a design meant to be lived with over time.
