Toko Sejauh: Where Conscious Design Meets Circularity, Transparency and The Story Behind Every Garment
After 12 years of shaping stories through cloth, craft and conscious design, Sejauh Mata Memandang finally has a home of its own. At Plaza Indonesia, where the Indonesian label first presented its work in 2015, Sejauh Mata Memandang returns with Toko Sejauh—its first permanent boutique and a physical expression of everything the brand stands for. It is a place where textiles, memory, people and process come together.

Chitra Subyakto & Zamri Mamat, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Plaza Indonesia
Designed with creative collaborator Felix Tjahjadi, the boutique draws from the childhood home of founder and creative director Chitra Subyakto, transforming personal memories into an intimate retail experience. Family photographs, antique furniture and tactile natural materials give the space the feeling of a home rather than a conventional store.

Terracotta tones, reclaimed wood, Tegel Kunci tiles and handwoven natural-fibre textiles from ROA Handwoven create a warm, tactile atmosphere, while elements made from Sejauh’s own production offcuts add another layer to the story—turning the boutique itself into a reflection of the brand’s philosophy of conscious design and circularity.

Beyond the Label
Toko Sejauh is also a platform for the wider creative community surrounding the brand. Alongside Sejauh Mata Memandang’s own collections, the boutique will regularly present works by its collaborators and Studio Sejauh partners. For its opening, the selection includes Songke handwoven textiles from Cibal, Flores, created by Rumah Tenun Baku Peduli using locally sourced natural dyes. Importantly, 100% of the profits from these textiles will go back to the weavers, supporting their long-term economic recovery following the August 2026 earthquake.

Transparency, One Product at a Time
For Sejauh, sustainability goes beyond materials. As a Certified B Corporation, the brand continues to build greater accountability and transparency into its practice. Through Mula, a Studio Sejauh partner, the brand is introducing a Digital Product Passport (DPP) to its products. Each participating piece carries a QR code that allows customers to trace its journey—from materials and origin to production and the people involved. It also provides information on care, repair and the product’s lifecycle beyond the point of purchase.

It is a small code with a bigger purpose: making the story behind what we wear more visible, traceable and accountable.

It is a fitting new chapter for a label whose journey has always extended beyond fashion—toward craft, sustainability, transparency and the people behind every piece.

Now, Toko Sejauh is open. Step inside, take your time, discover the stories woven into every piece—and experience Sejauh Mata Memandang in its new home.
