A Sense Of Air
What does air look like? For Spring-Summer 2027, Hermès turns the idea into clothes. Inspired by the feeling of air—something you can feel but barely see—Creative Director Nadège Vanhée builds a wardrobe around lightness, movement, and a little more freedom for the body.

The collection opens on a softer note, with sheer open-knit tops and dresses layered over bandeaus and briefs, followed by floaty skirts, tailored trousers, and lightweight coats. Silk charmeuse brings a fluid touch, while a pongee parka billows with every step. The silhouettes stay clean and practical, but there is always something that keeps them moving.

Then comes the Hermès attitude. Leather appears in slashed skirts, fitted pieces, belts, and accessories, often cut, perforated, or worked into fine strips and embroidered onto mesh. The house’s signature material feels lighter than usual, while equestrian references quietly surface through riding boots, buckled details, and belted shapes.

Zips, cords, and belts are more than finishing touches here. They change the way pieces sit on the body, opening up a skirt or pulling a silhouette into shape. Silk scarves are also given a new role, wrapped around the torso or worked into strappy tops. The result is a wardrobe that feels polished but never too precious.

The colour story starts quietly with cream, beige, camel, brown, and soft blue, before suddenly turning up the volume with sunflower yellow, tomato red, scarlet, and Hermès orange. It is a refreshing shift from the darker, more equestrian mood of recent seasons, giving the collection a sunnier, more relaxed energy.

Beauty follows the same light touch. Skin looks fresh and almost translucent, with a soft satin sheen, while strong brows add definition. A wash of white silk powder catches the light on the lids, finished with a fresh pink lip.

Runway photography by Filippo Fior captures the clothes in motion, while Thue Nørgaard brings the show’s atmosphere into focus. A film by BK France, accompanied by music from Studio Frédéric Sanchez, extends the collection’s sense of movement beyond the runway.

Light, sensual, and easy to wear, Hermès gives its Spring-Summer 2027 wardrobe plenty of room to breathe.
