Fashion, Art, and AI Converge in an Imagined World at Milan Fashion Week

What might fashion look like when it is no longer bound by the rules of production? In Milan, French multidisciplinary artist and fashion designer Pierre Amour explores that question through a practice where fashion, art, technology, and fantasy freely overlap.

Presented at Superstudio Più during Milan Fashion Week, FUTURFASHION: THE HIDDEN GENIUS introduces Pierre through a spectacular virtual fashion show, bringing his digital collections into a physical cultural space. The exhibition marks his solo debut and explores generative technology as part of a fashion designer’s creative process.

The project grew from Gisella Borioli, founder and soul of Superstudio, whose long-standing commitment to discovering emerging creative voices led her to Pierre. Looking for a new fashion story driven by vision and what might come next, rather than another return to the archive, she found the artist at the heart of FUTURFASHION.

“Young, brilliant, passionate. Looking at his work, I felt again that thrill of Great Fashion that I hadn’t felt for a long time. That’s why I decided, once again, to support a talent I believe in and to offer him the visibility he deserves. Keeping his name secret until today, so as not to confuse him among the many,” says Gisella.

That sense of discovery becomes clearer through Pierre’s unconventional path. Born and raised in Vichy, France, he began with drawing and writing before entering fashion in Paris and moving to New York, where he joined Zac Posen and progressed from intern to senior designer. His career expanded into couture, styling, and creative collaborations, including work connected to the Met Gala and Oscars and names such as John Galliano, Vera Wang, and Aura Tout Vu. Alongside fashion, he has published Random Wisdom and Deep Dive, while more recently exploring AI-generated music.

This multidisciplinary background informs his approach to generative AI, which he sees as a medium for bringing ideas closer to execution. It allows him to develop virtual collections, fashion shows, and environments beyond the immediate constraints of traditional production. For Pierre, a garment can become a sculpture, a runway, a theatre, and a collection of an entire universe.

At Superstudio, this approach unfolds through two interpretations. GREAT FASHION focuses on desirable clothes, unexpected silhouettes, new volumes, innovative materials, and precious workmanship. Technology supports the designer’s vision, giving shape to ideas that could eventually move beyond the screen and into real fashion.

IMAGINATION takes a more playful direction, with extravagant clothes and settings that suggest new aesthetics and possible paths for fashion.

The story continues in the Atelier of the FLA – FlavioLucchiniArt Museum, where Pierre’s creations meet Flavio Lucchini’s works and sculptures dedicated to fashion. The FLA houses an extensive collection of artworks tracing contemporary fashion over the past 50 years, creating a dialogue between Flavio’s physical interpretations and Pierre’s digitally constructed visions.

Pierre’s virtual collections first caught Gisella’s attention through social media, eventually leading to the idea of bringing these digital worlds beyond the screen and into Superstudio’s physical spaces. With FUTURFASHION: THE HIDDEN GENIUS, that transition becomes part of the exhibition itself.

Rather than predicting what fashion will look like tomorrow, Pierre explores what happens when traditional fashion practice meets new creative tools—opening up possibilities that might otherwise remain on the drawing board.
