Four Special Presentations to Discover

Counting down to Art Jakarta 2026! The fair is just around the corner, with plenty to discover beyond its gallery presentations. This year, four Lead Partners are bringing special projects to the fair, spanning art installations, participatory works, and new ways of engaging with art and ideas.

Julius Baer VIP Lounge
First up is the Julius Baer VIP Lounge, where art and participation come together in a special collaboration with Indonesian contemporary artist Handiwirman Saputra (b. 1975). As Julius Baer celebrates 20 years in Asia, it also marks its fifth year as Lead Partner of Art Jakarta, continuing its support for Indonesia’s vibrant artist community.

Known for transforming everyday materials into compelling works of art, Handiwirman will present a selection of his recent series alongside new paintings. Visitors can also take part in Kuasa Alam (The Might of Nature), an interactive activation that invites them to customise their own art print. Inspired by individual connections with nature, the activation opens up a more personal and creative way to engage with the artist’s work.

Bibit
From personal connections with nature, the fair then takes visitors out to sea. Bibit, the award-winning digital investment application, collaborates with Yogyakarta-based artist Endry Pragusta on Lost at Sea, a raft installation inspired by Théodore Géricault’s The Raft of the Medusa.

Reflecting on an education system that leaves people to navigate an uncertain future with incomplete tools, the work resonates with Bibit and Stockbit’s belief in the importance of financial literacy. Investing, much like navigating open waters, is not about predicting every wave, but learning to read the conditions, choose a direction, and stay steady through change. Just as we cannot control the wind and waves, we can adjust our sails—an idea that underpins Bibit and Stockbit’s approach to helping investors learn, adapt, and keep moving forward.

The presentation extends beyond the raft itself through Interactive Corner, where visitors can create their own origami symbol and add it to a shared wall. As more symbols come together, the once-empty space gradually transforms into a collective landscape of journeys, hopes, and future aspirations.

Treasury
If Lost at Sea looks outward at the forces we learn to navigate, Treasury offers a more contemplative encounter with Gravity of the Unheld, created by this year’s Treasury Art Prize winner, Etza Meisyara.

The intermedia artist explores the transformation of gold from a noble material into the concept of nobility as a transcendent value, examining how a material or element can interact with other forces, both visible and invisible. The installation invites audiences to slow down and attune their senses, creating an encounter that feels sacred yet grounded.

Rather than prescribing a singular interpretation, Meisyara draws on the theory of intersubjectivity, acknowledging how each individual’s background and experiences shape their encounter with the work. Through sight, smell, and sound, Gravity of the Unheld evokes a sense of nobility and the trust associated with it, allowing audiences to experience these impressions in their own way and carry them beyond the installation itself.

myBCA District One
And from a more contemplative encounter, BCA brings a playful energy to the fair with myBCA District One. The presentation introduces visitors to key myBCA features through a gamified format, encouraging them to explore how digital banking can become part of their everyday transactions.

The booth features a variety of activities showcasing myBCA services, including Poket Valas, Poket Rupiah, in-app OTP activation, and The New Gacha Berhadiah. Designed as an engaging educational space, myBCA District One also reflects BCA’s effort to bring digital banking services closer to the public, particularly younger audiences who are increasingly active users of digital banking.

Together, these four presentations bring different perspectives and formats to Art Jakarta 2026, adding another layer to the fair beyond its gallery presentations.

Art Jakarta 2026 takes place 2–4 October 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.
