At The LUC in Berawa, TUI BLUE’s new social listening lounge puts vinyl, sound and slow hospitality at the centre of the day.

TUI BLUE’s new HONO Social Listening Lounge is a room where vinyl, food, drinks and conversation share equal billing. But what sets HONO apart is its invitation to participate. Bring a record. Make a request. Join a sing-along. Stay for a jam session. Regular programming ranges from Selector Nights and Bring Your Own Vinyl sessions to collaborations with Bali’s creative community and Board Game Afternoons. Twice a month, Saturday mornings pair breakfast with live piano and guitar, while Friday evenings bring guitar, saxophone and vinyl DJ sessions. Here, music is not simply played for the room—it becomes part of the room’s social life.

HONO takes its cue from the intimacy of a listening room and the spontaneity of a jam session. The premise is simple: good records, good food, good drinks and good people in the same room. The sound is carefully present—loud enough to listen properly, restrained enough to keep conversation flowing.

Even the name carries a sense of warmth and connection. Inspired by honō, the Japanese word for a soft ember, alongside meanings associated with connection and sanctuary, HONO is conceived as a place to settle in rather than pass through.

And the day has its own soundtrack. Morning begins with coffee, breakfast, jazz and Bossa. By lunch, soul and folk take over. Golden hour brings aperitivo and warm funk; later, cocktails, vinyl, jazz and live sessions give the room a slower nocturnal pulse. Vinyl leads the way, with cassette and CD adding to the analogue-minded mix.

The drinks follow the rhythm. Structured like a record, HONO’s cocktail menu moves from the lighter Intro—think Sencha Sour and Earl Grey Highball—to the more layered Chorus and Bridge, before arriving at the spirit-forward Coda. The kitchen follows suit, moving from breakfast and lighter plates to sharing dishes, pizza and desserts. Nothing is designed to hurry the evening along.

Open to the public as well as hotel guests, HONO adds a different frequency to Berawa’s increasingly crowded hospitality landscape. It is a place where music is not simply played for the room—it becomes part of the room’s social life.
