Blurring the Boundaries Between Art, Design, and the Living Landscape
Known for its handcrafted rugs that balance material richness with a contemporary design language, Art de Vivre continues its dialogue with influential creative voices through Floralis, a new capsule collection created in collaboration with Estúdio Campana. Conceived as an exploration of nature, texture, and imagination, the collection transforms imagined botanical worlds into tactile objects that exist somewhere between collectible design and living art.

Presented during Milan Design Week 2026 at Teatro Arsenale in Milan’s 5VIE Design District, Floralis draws from the artistic practice of Humberto Campana, whose ongoing illustrations of cellular forms and imagined ecosystems inspired the collection. Developed through instinctive freehand gestures, the drawings evoke mosses, lichens, and organic ground covers — surreal compositions that appear to grow, evolve, and quietly spread across each rug.

Rather than refining away irregularities, Art de Vivre preserves the asymmetries and tactile qualities of Campana’s original illustrations, translating them into handcrafted woven pieces enriched with subtle variations in texture and volume. Rendered in a muted palette, the collection feels quietly immersive — designed not simply to decorate a space, but to shape its atmosphere.

Extending this narrative, the exhibition unfolds as a contemporary cabinet of curiosities, where each tapestry is enveloped in calibrated laser light, evoking the impression of delicate living specimens suspended within the dimly lit setting of Teatro Arsenale. The scenography further reinforces Floralis as an experience that sits between installation art and collectible design.

Marking another significant chapter for Art de Vivre, the collaboration reflects the brand’s continued commitment to craftsmanship and collectible design. At the centre of the collection is the monumental Floralis Caladium rug, measuring six by four metres and produced in a limited edition of only fifteen pieces — positioning Floralis at the intersection of art, craftsmanship, and contemporary living.
