Born from ADAL’s vision to reconnect people with the spaces they inhabit, Look into Nature continues its exploration of igusa—the traditional Japanese rush grass—through a contemporary, material-driven approach. Rooted in a craft spanning over 1,300 years, igusa is reimagined here not as heritage alone, but as a living element within modern design.

For its Preview at Milano Design Week 2026, the brand introduces a new chromatic evolution of its signature material. Rich tonal variations—SUMI-MUSUBI in deep black, SUMI-AMI blending blacks and greys, SABI-GOZA in bronze rust, and KOKE-GOZA in moss green—enhance the tactile depth of the weave, amplifying its three-dimensional presence while introducing a more expressive visual language.

More than a surface update, this development reflects a refined design approach. Igusa is reinterpreted to integrate effortlessly with contemporary interiors and materials such as oak and walnut, where its subtle luminosity captures light, creating warmth and depth. The result is a material that feels both grounded in tradition and intuitively aligned with modern living.

Beyond its aesthetic qualities, igusa also offers functional benefits. Its natural fibers contribute to healthier indoor environments by absorbing pollutants, regulating humidity, and ensuring durability through specialized treatments. This evolution takes form in the Hazuki chair, where the woven surface flows seamlessly from seat to backrest in a single, continuous gesture. The interplay between shaped wood and slender steel legs creates a refined balance between solidity and lightness, while the moss green tone enhances its contemporary character—making it suitable for both hospitality settings and residential interiors.

Each piece is crafted in Japan using traditional artisanal techniques, from reed cultivation to hand weaving, preserving the material’s authenticity while allowing it to evolve within new contexts.
