Shaped by Sculptural Thinking and Quiet Comfort
Known for bridging classic and contemporary design, ClassiCon previews Soft Stone Sofa by Gabriel Tan—a modular, sculptural seating system unveiled at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026.

Developed as a system of eleven distinct modules, the Soft Stone Sofa is composed of asymmetrically arranged cubic elements softened by rounded edges. Its design draws from two distinct yet complementary references: the staggered stone terraces of Parque da Cidade in Porto, and the sculptural language of Isamu Noguchi, where solidity and softness quietly coexist.

At once monolithic and inviting, the sofa balances architectural presence with tactile comfort. Beneath its sculptural form lies a carefully engineered construction—a plywood frame with Nosag springs layered with varying upholstery foams. A firmer front edge supports ease of movement, while memory foam and a quilted layer of down and hollow fibres create a soft, enveloping seat that gently adapts to the body.

Conceived with flexibility in mind, each configuration is uniquely composed and can evolve over time. Modules can be combined, expanded, or reconfigured, reflecting a contemporary way of living that values adaptability as much as form.
This sense of softness extends into its material expression. Gentle folds in the upholstery introduce a relaxed elegance, softening the sofa’s geometry and lending it a quiet, almost Italian ease. In collaboration with Zimmer + Rohde, a curated selection of fabrics—from textured bouclé and deep-toned chenille to earthy linen blends—allows each piece to take on its own character, with removable covers designed for longevity and change.

Manufactured in Bavaria with meticulous craftsmanship, the Soft Stone Sofa reflects ClassiCon’s enduring balance between heritage and innovation—an object that settles naturally into space while inviting new ways of sitting, gathering, and living.
