An Architectural Composition Inspired by the Rhythm of City Skylines
In contemporary interiors, the bathroom has evolved beyond a purely functional space. Elements such as the washbasin now take on a more central role, balancing everyday function with sculptural design.

Italian bathroom design brand antoniolupi introduces Skyline, a marble washbasin designed by Antonio Iraci, previewing ahead of Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026. Conceived through an architectural approach, the piece explores the relationship between volume, light, and layered surfaces.

Inspired by the geometry of urban skylines, Skyline translates the rhythm of buildings into a composition of parallel and orthogonal planes. The structure creates a dialogue between solids and voids, allowing light to filter through narrow openings while subtly revealing the basin within. From the front, the object appears almost monolithic. Overlapping marble surfaces partially conceal the basin, creating a sense of visual intrigue. As the viewer moves around it, the composition gradually unfolds, revealing the suspended basin positioned between two parallel planes.

Crafted entirely in natural marble, the design highlights the expressive character of the material. The clean geometry allows the stone’s texture and weight to take center stage, transforming the washbasin into a sculptural element within the bathroom.

With Skyline, the washbasin becomes more than a functional object—emerging instead as a quiet architectural presence within the bathroom space.
