Timelessness: luxury aimed at longevity and versatility

For Fall/Winter 2026, Zegna frames its collection as “A Family Closet,” an intimate meditation on clothing as inheritance. Set inside an imagined wardrobe filled with real garments from the Zegna family archive, including the original 1930s “Abito N.1,” the show positions fashion as something to be kept, worn, and passed down rather than discarded.

For artistic director Alessandro Sartori, clothes are lived experiences, evolving across generations. Fabric remains the foundation. The house’s iconic Trofeo wool, introduced in 1965, anchors a lineup of richly tactile materials: printed flannels, washed double cashmere, Oasi Cashmere, compact mohair gabardine, and plush shearling. These surfaces reinforce Zegna’s long-standing textile expertise while feeling distinctly modern.

Silhouettes are long and relaxed but precise. Coats and jackets extend in length with square shoulders, while full trousers flow from a high, cinched waist. Double-breasted closures are reworked for versatility, sometimes reduced or redesigned with an additional horizontal button that allows multiple ways of fastening. Blazers feature double lapels, blousons double collars, and categories blur with fluid overshirts and textured knit or shearling bombers. The effect is elegant yet instinctive.

The palette moves through creamy alpine neutrals, organic browns and forest tones, punctuated by restrained jewel hues, with anthracite and softened black grounding the collection in classicism. Zegna Fall/Winter 2026 reads as a wardrobe built to endure, shaped by memory, and refined through material mastery.
