A Playful Reinterpretation of the Classic Chandelier

With LOUIS XIV, Italian lighting designer Davide Groppi distills the grandeur of a traditional chandelier into a sculptural, contemporary statement. Introduced in 2023, the suspension lamp reimagines the teardrop chandelier with a lighter touch—both in form and spirit—balancing refinement with a hint of playful surrealism.

At the core, a polished gold structure sets the tone, reflecting light with measured elegance rather than opulence. Hand-shaped natural brass branches extend outward, giving the piece an organic, almost poetic geometry. Suspended from these branches, 75 crystal drops capture and multiply light with a modern, understated glamour.

A whimsical detail crowns the composition: two miniature birds perched above—softening the chandelier’s aristocratic lineage and adding a narrative charm Groppi is loved for.

Beyond aesthetics, the lighting design is highly considered. LOUIS XIV features dual LED emissions—a focused, glare-controlled beam below for functional illumination, paired with a diffused glow above that envelops the surrounding space. The result is an atmospheric piece that doubles as both lighting and art.

Available in multiple configurations and colour temperatures, LOUIS XIV suits refined residences, boutique hospitality spaces, and contemporary interiors seeking a touch of character.
