The New Chroma Collection by Serena Confalonieri with the Camera Picta Installation
Two well-known Italian surface designers, Radici and Zambaiti Parati, worked together to introduce Camera Picta during Milan Design Week, and Serena Confalonieri created the installation, which is situated at Corso Garibaldi 17 in the center of Brera.
The project reinterprets the boiserie of a historic palazzo, alternating geometric regularity with ornate decorative features like Renaissance frescoes and marbling, and celebrates decorative surfaces by emphasizing patterns and reshaping interiors through mirrors and architectural elements.
Presented by Magran Living
Historical architectural symbols like stripes, circles, diamonds, and lozenges, along with a marbled texture, are paired with bold color experiments in Radici’s textile surfaces and Zambaiti Parati’s wallpapers.
“When I was asked to design the Camera Picta installation, bringing together Radici and Zambaiti Parati’s expertise, my first thought was how to fully harness the potential of every surface. The inspiration comes from Renaissance palaces—from Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel to Bramante’s Tempietto, to Palladian and Roman villas—where every surface is colored, decorated, and emphasized,” says Serena Confalonieri.
The Chroma textile collection, which consists of eight designs split into four capsule collections, was introduced by Radici in collaboration with Serena Confalonieri. A distinct artistic and decorative technique serves as the inspiration for each collection. The Chroma collection features designs that reimagine various artistic and decorative techniques, such as Madame & Pinco, Casquè & Monsone, Nembi & Saette, and Pointillisme. To investigate the potential of textile surfaces, the brand keeps working with top Italian and international designers.
Boiserie 3D and Project – Chapter 2 are two new Contract collections from Zambaiti Parati. Boiserie 3D is a sophisticated three-dimensional wallcovering collection that captures the natural beauty of natural wood and reinterprets the timeless elegance of boiserie, adding depth, warmth, and texture to interior spaces. Project – Chapter 2 is a collaboration with renowned designers and architects.
