Thriving amid the Challenges of Our Time

Art Jakarta Gardens is back! Come and join us at Hutan Kota by Plataran from April 22–27, 2025, for the exciting fourth edition of this open-air art fair. We’re showcasing 25 amazing galleries from various cities across Indonesia, all set in the beautiful urban garden landscape right in the heart of Jakarta.

First launched in 2022 as a creative response to the challenges of the pandemic, Art Jakarta Gardens has quickly become a must-see event in the Indonesian art scene. As more people seek out engaging cultural experiences, this exhibition also highlights the vibrant socio-economic dynamics of the city through contemporary art. Thanks to our wonderful Lead Partners—Bibit, Treasury, and BCA—we can further explore the important role of the creative economy in fostering dialogue and new ideas about value, resilience, and our future.

Presented by LeChateau Living

A special highlight of the fair will be the Sculpture Garden, featuring an exciting range of artworks that showcase the diverse exploration of forms and materials in contemporary sculpture. Make sure to check out pieces like “Sit on the Bench” by King Saladeen (MoT), “Emotional Safeguard” by Agugn and Sekar Puti (Srisasanti Gallery), “Rooster” by Yunizar (Gajah Gallery), “Keep Rolling!” by Iwan Suastika (D Gallerie), “Muscle, Mud, and Blood #1” by Dzikra A.N., and “Terbanglah Bunda” by Yani Mariani (Kendys Sankhara). We can’t wait to see you there!

Art Jakarta Gardens began as a modest initiative, an alternative way to hold an art exhibition during the pandemic. As it turned out, we received an overwhelmingly positive response from galleries, artists, and the general public. Now, in its fourth year since it was first held in 2022, Art Jakarta Gardens has evolved into an event that combines an art exhibition with green open spaces, and a selection of performances, including music and performance art. It has become not just an event, but also a distinctive platform for art. And we’re confident that it will continue to grow in the years to come, with the increasing support and interest of galleries, artists, collectors, corporate and brand partners, as well as the wider public.” (Enin Supriyanto, Art Director)

“We’re very happy that this year Art Jakarta Gardens is not only making a return but also maximizing its potential to strengthen its position in the Indonesian art world. We’ve welcomed more exhibitors—growing from 22 last year to 25—showcasing artworks within carefully designed tents and booths that thoughtfully respond to the unique open-air setting of Hutan Kota. Our public programme is also expanding, as Art Jakarta Gardens continues to grow as a platform that embraces both performing arts and performance art. Through these efforts, we hope to foster a deeper public appreciation for art.” (Tom Tandio, Fair Director)

Art Jakarta Gardens will first welcome VIP guests, marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey. The general public will join in on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
