WONDERGLASS – POETICA: A DREAMLIKE EXPLORATION OF MATERIALITY, CRAFT AND IMAGINATION

An Installation Featuring New Works by Vincent Van Duysen and Ronan Bouroullec

At the 63rd Salone del Mobile, WonderGlass returns to Istituto dei Ciechi with POETICA, an installation merging glass, wallpaper, and ceramics into a poetic dialogue of material and craft. Featuring works by Vincent Van Duysen and Ronan Bouroullec, with contributions from Calico Wallpaper and Officine Saffi Lab, the exhibit reimagines these materials as vessels of memory and imagination.

Inspired by storytelling and craftsmanship, POETICA transcends the tangible, evoking emotion and meaning through form and texture. Each piece unfolds through its interaction with light, space, and perception, forging an evolving narrative between designer, craftsman, and viewer.

Van Duysen introduces Optô, a collection defined by architectural elegance and a dynamic interplay of perforated fused glass and blown glass, balancing transparency with opacity. Bouroullec presents Architettura per Fiori (in collaboration with Officine Saffi Lab), combining cast glass and enamelled ceramics in a study of material contrast, and Vetrofuso Spazio, a suspended glass screen installation that explores geometric abstraction through heat-fused layers.

Calico Wallpaper’s Aura and Aurora, designed by Rachel Cope, immerse viewers in atmospheric waves of color, inspired by energy fields and the cycle of light throughout the day.
