A Poetics of the Infinite
Does Alessandro Michele set the stage for a new era at Valentino after his debut haute couture for Maison Valentino in Paris on January 29, 2025? The collection was met with widespread acclaim, with critics praising Michele’s ability to honor Valentino’s heritage while injecting his own unique vision. With the title ”Vertigineux – a poetics of the list”, Alessandro presents 48 dresses/48 narratives showcasing of a symphony of linguistic embroidery, botanical whispers, and symbolic knots unfolds—an ever-growing list without syntax, held together by accumulation and contrast. Each dress becomes a portal to interconnected realms, a layered composition where references multiply and collide, amplifying its uniqueness.

As stated by Alessandro that the collection is just a fashion – it is a journey into the exhilarating vertigo of an unfinished multiplicity. Perhaps one may say it is a constellation of visions.
