Limited Edition Collection unveils at Maison & Objet 2025, Paris

Illulian, the Italian brand known for its luxury handcrafted rugs, will showcase its new designs at Maison & Objet 2025, including the Turan and Automata rugs by Italian architect Elena Cutolo. Cutolo, celebrated for her vibrant use of color and materials, blends tradition with modernity in her creations.

Turan design by Elena Cutolo

The Turan rug, named after the Etruscan goddess of love and beauty, features an irregular perimeter that evokes a warm embrace. Its concentric patterns and tactile fleeces create a sensory experience that invites relaxation and emotional connection.

Automata is inspired by Cutolo’s childhood memories, drawing on themes of robotics, vintage tin toys, and science fiction. Available in two versions—Automata Alpha with soft pastels and Automata Beta with bold colors—this rug reimagines the mechanical world as a playful, inviting experience.

Both rugs go beyond functionality, becoming storytelling pieces that bring warmth and elegance to any space.

All the rugs by Illulian are knotted and carded by hand and can be made in two quality levels: Platinum 120, the most exclusive line stands out by the use of top-quality wool and silk and the extremely complex handcrafted process – with a stunning 180,000 knots/m2 – that creates spectacular sculpted effects. Gold 100 proposes rugs made from wool and silk, with a timeless charm and a density of 152,000 knots/m2.
