Enrich Private Interiors and Projects Worldwide

As an Austrian family business now in its fifth generation, Wittmann has stood for quality, individuality, and outstanding craftsmanship for more than 125 years. Wittmann creates precisely crafted upholstered furniture – re-editions by Josef Hoffmann, as well as contemporary designs by internationally renowned designers. With their uniqueness, the models enrich private interiors and extraordinary projects in restaurants, hotels, and corporate offices all over the world. The most recent examples of such projects are an oasis of calm as a stopover and a place to linger on arrival, a venue for the finest culinary delights, and prestigious rooms with the highest design standards.

The family-run Naturhotel Forsthofgut at the foot of the Leogang mountains has created a unique connection between nature and architecture. The mix of modern aesthetics with soft colors, warm wood, and pleasant lighting elements in the lobby ensures that guests immediately feel welcome and comfortable. The hosts, the Schmuck family, have focused on sustainable construction and the use of ecological materials. The natural ambiance combined with famous Josef Hoffmann classics and contemporary Wittmann models round off the customer experience perfectly.

“We are grateful and proud that the Hotel Forsthofgut is a special brand ambassador for Wittmann. The family-run hotel has the same understanding of quality and the same standards as Wittmann. In addition, the Forsthofgut also lives internationality with a clear commitment to its roots. Especially in the hotel and gastronomy sector, there is no alternative to punctual and reliable delivery – the Hotel Forsthofgut has been able to rely on us in this regard.” Christian Adam, Sales Director Wittmann

Landhaus Bacher became one of Austria’s top gourmet addresses under Lisl Wagner Bacher in 1979. Son-in-law Thomas Dorfer, who has now been at the hotel for 22 years, has maintained the high standard of the establishment with his culinary concept. Numerous regular guests appreciate the distinctive atmosphere of Landhaus Bacher. The Vorarlberg architect Daniel Büchel, responsible for the interior, and Susanne Dorfer-Bacher immediately settled on the MORTON chair with its elegant organic design language as a counterpoint to the straight lines of the traditional wall benches.

“For us, it is a fundamental requirement that our guests sit well and comfortably, as a multi-course gourmet meal lasts several hours. Although we don’t see ourselves as experts in the furniture industry, we have recognized how dynamically Wittmann has developed in recent years in terms of design language and corporate identity, while still retaining its regionality and tradition. Values that also apply to our Landhaus Bacher.”  Susanne Dorfer- Bacher & Thomas Dorfer, hosts

The interior of the VIP terminal at Vienna Airport was inspired by the golden age of the Vienna Secession, derived from the green copper roofs of the cultural metropolis. The color green is reflected in the elegant Wittmann seating furniture. The reception area, foyer, three salons, and three themed salons are furnished with comfortable armchairs, sofas, and coffee tables from Wittmann, inviting guests to linger. A soft color palette and a tasteful combination of modern and classic elements have been combined to create an elegant and cozy ambiance designed to reduce travel stress. Strong shades of green and gold set highlights.

“Airports are multicultural meeting zones – and yet at Vienna Airport, Wittmann furniture was used to create areas with a clear identity and local reference. Our furniture was deliberately designed to create places of well-being in these “public” spaces, providing privacy and a sense of security. For Wittmann, this project is a great reference with which we were able to prove ourselves in the “Luxury Travel” project field.”  Christian Adam, Sales Director Wittmann

The architectural firm Lütjens Padmanabhan designed the new residence of the Swiss ambassador in Algiers with a single open floor plan. Official areas can flow seamlessly into private spaces when they are not in use. Strategically placed doors, as well as the materials used and recurring graphic elements, link the spaces together. The salon is furnished with OYSTER leather armchairs from Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten, which Jörg Boner designed for the company in 2014. The earth tones and green of the leather upholstery are intended to reflect the outside – the garden – inside.

“The residence has an official entrance with a wardrobe, a salon with a five-meter-long dining table, and a lounge area with the beautiful OYSTER chairs from Wittmann. The idea of the three chosen leather colors represents a connection to the outside area because thanks to the glass pavilion you look into a wonderful, green garden. The shades harmonize with the green of the plants and the earth tones of the garden soil.” Jörg Boner, designer of the Wittmann OYSTER armchairs
