Between Past, Present, and Future

Gervasoni continues to sculpt its domestic universe with unceasing research focused on creating tailor-made solutions for comfort. The company participates in Milan Design Week 2024 with a dynamic dialogue between past and future, exhibiting its evolutions over time and its visions for the future of furniture. The layouts of the stands and showroom via Spartaco, different in aesthetics and design, each tells the 2024 indoor and outdoor innovations signed by different designers in their unique way. The Gervasoni Flagship Store in Via Durini, on the other hand, has been chosen as the place to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Paola Navone’s Ghost collection: the designer will take care of the entire set-up of the space, where Ghost furniture will show up in new versions.

Gervasoni presents two new proposals designed by Cristina Celestino and Gabriele and Oscar Buratti as previews: ideal for a sleeping area, they hide a hybrid soul that makes them perfect for a wide variety of contexts.

PLUMEAU – design Cristina Celestino
Cristina Celestino extends the Plumeau collection with a new upholstered proposal, a lounge armchair that preserves the styles of the bed from the same collection. The furnishings of the Plumeau collection reveal their very essence in soft, sinuous shapes that evoke the world of textiles. The new armchair is the result of a modern interpretation of the concept of comfort, inspired by the aesthetics of Asian nomads. Its upholstered, removable surface recalls the coats and drapes of tribes that wander the grasslands of Mongolia, suggesting a remote and evocative landscape that lends itself to oneiric, dreamlike atmospheres. The seat of the Plumeau armchair seems almost framed by a slightly upholstered fabric drapery that delineates its profile through piping and light, delicate curvatures to smooth its aesthetics. The apparent formal simplicity of the shell supports the quilted fabric upholstery of the seat with elegance, providing a pleasing visual contrast.

YAKU – design Gabriele e Osca Buratti
Gabriele and Oscar Buratti’s Yaku collection also enlarges with a proposal designed for a wide variety of contexts. The designers draw the Yaku console table, where simplicity and essentiality are the keywords that define the project: the term Yaku is a reference to the Japanese tradition of combining simple elements with sophisticated compositions. The Yaku collection celebrates the essence of wood in its most authentic forms: the main wooden elements are presented with pure simplicity, using clean cuts that emphasize sections and refined proportion, overlapping and gently spaced to create a delicate line of escape. The elements of the desk, in simple geometric shapes, seem to be assembled like a sophisticated and elegant compositional work, recalling the ancient oriental interlocking game designed to create symmetrical three-dimensional units. The apparent contrast between the solidity and impressive legs of the console table and the lightness of the top given by a thin thickness, turn the product into a perfect product for decorating a variety of domestic spaces while still maintaining a distinct personality.
