The Sideboard: Result of Internal Research and Development Work, Mixes Lightness and Modernity

Glass is an element able to reconcile modernity and tradition, technology and craftsmanship, all in the spirit of an elegant and sophisticated design. All this is Aterea, the new project by Tonelli Design, an icon of the Italian glass, that after years of research presents a sideboard of a timeless character and that reveals a new and unprecedented aspect of this extremely eclectic and dynamic material.

The concept
Aterea is a sideboard of a pure and linear design, thought to be reinterpreted and personalised according to one’s taste and living style. The choice of the versions in fused glass for the fronts witnesses a constructive excellence that combines the culture of glass art with the modern research in the glass world. The refined combination of noble and sophisticated materials makes this sideboard the timeless protagonist of the living space. Essential volumes of mellow textures, surprising for their delicate elegance, express suspended lightness on glass bases.

A unique process for original textures
The sideboard takes shape through the textures and colours of the fused glass that emphasize the three-dimensionality of the glass, enhancing the tactile perception thanks to the light reflections typical of this material. A fusion process at high temperature, where craftmanship and innovation come together in pure Tonelli style. The T-Stripes textures, deeply embossed, play with the light creating three-dimensional surfaces that reflect the warmth and sophistication of the fused glass.

Technical info
Sideboard with internal structure in melamine with grey fabric effect. Aterea features refined outer coverings in champagne or Titanio back lacquered glass, extra clear (polished effect) or extra clear satinized (matt effect). The hinge doors with push-pull opening are available in various finishes: normal mirror, smoked mirror, or bronze mirror, or in glass T-Bands back lacquered champagne or Titanio, or in glass T-Bands mirrored in normal mirror, smoked or bronze mirror, or in fused T-Stripes glass mirrored in normal mirror, smoked or bronze mirror. Feet in welded glass and two internal shelves in extra clear glass that can be positioned on three different heights. The top can be in the same finish as the outer coverings or in ceramic or marble. Optional LED COB lighting kit underneath the base with remote control to turn it on and regulate the light intensity.
