Italian Design Arrives at BIKA Living Jakarta

Porro, the renowned Italian design brand, has opened its new branded showroom at the BIKA Living in Jakarta’s Kemang district, introducing its refined approach to contemporary interiors within one of the city’s established luxury furniture destinations. The opening, held on 25 February 2026, was marked by an intimate gathering attended by invited guests, design professionals, and partners.

Occupying an entire floor within the BIKA, the showroom unfolds through a sequence of domestic environments where architectural systems and furniture pieces come together naturally. Materials, finishes, and proportions reflect the brand’s signature balance between technical precision and quiet elegance.

Visitors are welcomed by a dining setting anchored by the Materic Ovale table by Piero Lissoni in black-stained solid ash, paired with Voyage chairs by GamFratesi in natural maple and aged leather. Nearby, the Ex-libris display cabinet by Lissoni frames objects behind transparent glass doors, while Layer wall panels in the new ebano tech finish create a warm backdrop for the Origata console by Nao Tamura, lacquered in Siena orange.

The living area centers around the Ferro low table by Piero Lissoni,  accompanied by the Kite sofa and armchair by GamFratesi. Its fan-like form and curved tubular frame wrap gently around the upholstery, revealing details that recall the precision of couture tailoring. Behind it, the System HT composition transforms Porro’s iconic System bookcase into a light architectural backdrop, combining metallic shelves with vertical dividers in noce canaletto.

In the dining room, the Metallico table by Piero Lissoni takes the spotlight with slender aluminum legs supporting a Calacatta green marble top. It is paired with Frank chairs, whose soft upholstered shells contrast with iron-finished metal legs subtly inspired by classic French design. The setting is completed by the Gallery Low Cupboard by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, whose sliding door reveals a Siena orange lacquered interior with mirrored backing.

The installation continues into a meeting room conceived as a refined workspace. The Pascal table by Piero Lissoni, with its black-stained ash top and die-cast aluminum base, is paired with Neve chairs in matching ash wood. Behind it, a Modern + Load-it composition combines steel shelving, lacquered panels, and walnut modules, creating a dynamic yet balanced arrangement.

Moving into the night area, the atmosphere becomes softer and more intimate. The Iro bed by GamFratesi introduces a calm presence with its generous headboard cushions and turned solid ash frame, accompanied by Hub bedside tables by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti with Calacatta Oro marble tops. Storage wardrobes designed by Piero Lissoni with CRS Porro complete the space with carefully composed interiors and refined finishes.

A vanity niche integrates the Modern + Load-it system with steel shelves, mirrored panels, and a walnut desk, paired with the Romby armchair by GamFratesi, whose sculptural ash base supports a compact swivel seat upholstered in red fabric. The sequence culminates in a spacious dressing room featuring the Storage wardrobe system accessed through Glide Shanghai sliding partitions designed by Piero Lissoni with Iaco Design Studio. Transparent glass doors reveal illuminated shelving and neatly organized compartments, while the Storage Isola chest of drawers with its arancio siena glass top forms a multifunctional centerpiece.
