The present of Ritzwell’s CLAUDE Armchairs

Hidden within Kyoto’s historic Maruyama Park, Bar Kun is an invitation-only retreat that blurs the lines between architecture, nature, and ritual. Designed by Yoshihara-Gumi and guided by renowned bartender Minoru Nishida, the bar offers just 14 seats, framing an intimate experience where every detail is deliberate.

A private courtyard becomes the heart of the design: seasonal trees and a monumental stone slab from Fukushima evoke the flow of water, creating a serene dialogue between landscape and structure. Inside, the atmosphere is hushed and contemplative—lighting is soft, the menu minimal, the mood meditative

Enhancing this stillness is the presence of Ritzwell’s CLAUDE Armchairs, crafted under the vision of Shinsaku Miyamoto. Selected for their sculptural armrests, essential lines, and refined rear profile, the chairs embody a quiet strength that resonates with Bar Kun’s philosophy. They blend seamlessly into the pared-back architecture while offering impeccable comfort, reinforcing the sense of harmony that defines the space.

At Bar Kun, design is not decoration but a ritual—each element, from stone to seating, orchestrates a profound experience of calm. It is a place where heritage, craft, and atmosphere align in perfect balance.
