A Modern Revival of Fulvio Bianconi’s 1950s Masterpiece Brings New Life to Murano’s Art of Glass Mosaic

A milestone of 20th-century glass design, Fulvio Bianconi’s Pezzati for VENINI returns this November in a new collection that bridges past and present. First unveiled at the 1950 Venice Biennale, the original works redefined Murano craftsmanship through bold color, irregular form, and a spirit of artistic freedom.

Crafted using Bianconi’s pioneering technique of hot-applying small, multicolored glass tiles into a mosaic, each piece reveals a surface alive with rhythm, luminosity, and chromatic nuance.

The 2025 reedition revisits these principles with a refined palette—Lilla, Menta, Pagliesco, and Crystal—executed with meticulous attention to detail. The result is a collection that preserves the essence of Venetian tradition while embracing a contemporary sensibility.
