Synapsis Between Surfaces

Unprecedented aesthetic and functional connections with different materials and performances drive the search for new surfaces of Scapin Group and its brands Marmo Arredo and Quartzforms® towards new horizons

Milano Design Week  – April 16th – 21st
Milano Salone del Mobile – S. Project Hall 01 booth F08
Marmo Arredo Showroom – Via Santa Tecla, 3, Milan

Scapin Group, specializing in processing marble, granite, composite materials, and agglomerates used in construction and furnishings, will be at the Milan Furniture Fair, the main event of the design world, with its brands Marmo Arredo and Quartzforms®.

Quartzforms – Ecotone : New Era Poseidon | New Era Lasa

The event is yet another chance to tell its story through a dual narrative featuring on the one hand, the group’s ability to deliver novel and advanced designs that take surface research to new horizons with Quartzforms® and the new range of Ecotone surfaces™, and on the other hand, its increasing sensitivity toward bringing out new design solutions for the world of architecture and interior design with Marmo Arredo.

Since its beginnings in 1981, the Scapin Group has continuously innovated its products and processes intending to make ongoing improvements, and created two brands that represent the stages of a path aimed at achieving uncompromising quality in the name of sustainability.

Unique and high-performance for making kitchen counter-tops, bathrooms, wall and floor tiles, Quartzforms® mineral surfaces make us keep appreciating natural stone by using the most advanced technology to create a material with unparalleled characteristics of versatility, strength, long-lasting beauty, hygiene, and ease of maintenance.

Presented by Galleria

A leader in the industrial production of kitchen counter-tops, as well as in working customized surfaces and unique customized pieces in natural stone, composites, and agglomerates, Marmo Arredo is a true example of industrial precision able to put the best and most advanced technologies at the service of designers, along with attention to detail and craftsmanship know-how for the realization of the boldest projects.

The outcome of an ever-evolving trajectory, Scapin Groups 2024 novelties are the culmination of three years of partnership with Studio Boeri Interiors which, in addition to designing the company’s showroom opened in Milan in 2022, also designed this year’s trade show booth along with the expansion of the collection of Chiglia tables.

“Synapses between surfaces” is the theme of the 2024 collections, which will be presented at the fair in S. Project Hall and at the showroom on Via Santa Tecla, Milan, and which, through creative collaborations with designers and companies, will offer unprecedented aesthetic and functional connections with dissimilar surfaces and materials expanding imagination and application. A quest that aims to generate new concepts and answers for conscious architecture and design that look ahead keeping their impact on the environment in mind.

ECOTONE™
Surface made of recycled components – designed by Quartzforms®

Scapin Group’s Quartzforms® brand specializing in the production of quartz mineral surfaces marked by a lengthy and complex technological evolution, presents the innovations of the revolutionary ECOTONE™ range launched last year.

Quartzforms – Ecotone : New Era Mahal

The project stemmed from the desire to take another look at the relationship between natural and artificial, to create spaces in which materials of different natures coexist and influence each other. From this concept, the company has made strides with its research and experimentation that have enabled it to come up with a more sustainable formulation.

This is how Ecotone™ came to be. This new generation of slabs is made from recycled components, resin derived from bio-compound, and with less than 5 percent crystalline silica. Through the most advanced quartz processing technology, it offers an alternative with a low impact on the environment while delivering outstanding technical performances such as resistance to impacts, scratches, stains, and acidic substances.

Quartzforms – Ecotone : New Era Poseidon | New Era Crono

In nature, Ecotone is a transitional environment between two ecosystems or more generally between two homogeneous though distinct entities: Ecotone aims to be a transitional material between technical quartz, produced with a traditional methodology, and a more cutting-edge surface that places its focus on respecting our planet. 60% of the power used in Ecotone™ slab production is from wind power and the water used is recycled.

“Today we can proudly say that we have achieved a fundamental goal: we have managed to develop products with minimal impact on the environment, by using energy from renewable sources, such as wind and solar, and the almost total recycling of the water used during processing. On this basis, we bring to life projects of inestimable beauty, which are proving to be a valuable source of inspiration for the most creative designers: this is our contribution to a new, evolved conception of interior design,” Marco Scapin, Art Director of Scapin Group, explains.

Quartzforms – Ecotone : New Era Mahal

Mahal, Lasa, Poseidon, and Crono are four new surfaces that enlarge the Ecotone™ – New Era collection, are ideal for kitchen countertops, and can be used in the bathroom environment and as wall and floor coverings.

Mahal appears as an interweaving of decisive forms: very fine, dotted veining overlap on a beige background, creating a warm surface whose chaotic and imperfect soul becomes a distinctive figure of natural refinement.

Quartzforms – Ecotone : New Era Crono | New Era Mahal | New Era Poseidon | New Era Lasa

Lasa is characterized by a warm white background on which a symphony of grey veining and copper and bronze mottling chase each other in an oblique direction and enliven a highly decorative material with a strong identity.

An interplay of marked lines and veining characterizes Poseidon, whose grey-coloured texture stands out against the crystalline white background. An extremely versatile surface that fits into any environment brightening it and adding character.

A symbol of refinement and elegance, the black colour characterizes Crono whose white and bronze-coloured veining create an alchemy of contrasting tones, effective in telling a suggestion of continuous and eternal metamorphosis.

New surfaces, that come in a glossy or matte finish, in 320 x 155 cm size and 2 cm or 3 cm thickness that, thanks to their strong character, help to define any project by responding to an uncompromising aesthetic.

CHIGLIA
Collection of tables – Designed by Stefano Boeri Interiors, 2024

The rigour and essentiality of shapes are the key principles that guided Stefano Boeri Interiors during the creation stage of the latest Chiglia table, which evolved this year by choosing new materials for the new version to expand the collection.

The iconic workmanship of the top, expertly crafted by Marmo Arredo, draws inspiration from the characteristic shape of a boat’s keel, in a bold interplay of interlocking to deliberately create balance.

Made of marble or quartz, the top is joined to metal legs that create a new lightweight appearance.

The clean, essential lines characteristic of the original style are enriched with a new identity to suit different living spaces and scenarios.  The Chiglia table becomes a versatile piece of furniture, that combines elegance and functionality in a single design.
