A new chapter unfolds at the upcoming 64th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano in 2026: Salone Raritas — an exhibition dedicated to limited editions, unique objects, and exceptional craftsmanship. Debuting from 21–26 April 2026 at Fiera Milano, Rho, this curated platform aims to redefine how collectible design connects with the contemporary professional design world.

Curated by Annalisa Rosso and designed by Formafantasma, Salone Raritas acts as a meeting point between exceptional galleries and an international network of architects, interior designers, developers, and brands. The space—conceived as an architectural “lantern”—creates a porous, luminous landscape where the artistry of each piece shines within a coherent curatorial rhythm.

The initiative reflects a growing global interest in collectible design as a strategic element in defining identity within hospitality, residential, and public projects. By integrating this field within the Salone, the exhibition acknowledges the market’s shift toward quality, rarity, and narrative as new value indicators.
According to Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano, Salone Raritas represents the fair’s forward-looking vision: “We are opening a new chapter devoted to authorial design, research, and antiques—an extraordinarily fertile territory that interacts directly with the professional design system. Salone Raritas will be a curatorial platform with a strong market awareness, capable of picking up on the growing demand for rare and iconic pieces from architects, developers, brands and investors, who now recognise this type of design as a strategic asset in terms of affirming identity and vision.”

For Annalisa Rosso, it also marks a cultural and commercial evolution: “Salone Raritas builds open channels between worlds that once seemed distant, fostering new opportunities and shared growth.”
Formafantasma – Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin – see exhibition design as both a critical and a functional device: “We imagined Salone Raritas as a legible and permeable architectural landscape, a lantern that puts light and rhythm at the service of the pieces. The design allows each gallery to express its own identity while maintaining a choral narrative, designed for both visitor memorability and for market effectiveness.”

Supported by the Salone’s global platform of over 300,000 visitors and 5,200 journalists, Salone Raritas positions itself as both a marketplace and a cultural arena—where rarity becomes a shared design language, and timeless creativity meets contemporary vision.
