Cork as the Future of Sustainable Design
Rockwell Group, in partnership with the Cork Collective and cork innovator Corticeira Amorim, presents Casa Cork—a multisensory showcase of design, sustainability, and innovation—at Milan Design Week 2025. What role will cork and sustainability play in shaping the future of design? The exhibition became of one of the important spotlights during Milan Design Week 2025 in Milan.

At its heart is a striking six-meter cork-clad tree, 3D-printed by Factum Arte and made from reclaimed cork. The installation, crafted almost entirely from cork, features custom furnishings, lighting, and design objects by top names including Tom Dixon, the Campana Brothers, and Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance. Rockwell Group also collaborated with artisans and brands like Artemest, Thomas Cooper Studio, and 4Spaces to bring cork’s potential to life through lighting, fabrics, and bespoke interiors.

Beyond the Installation
Casa Cork is a vibrant hub with a wine bar, product displays, and a series of live talks curated by design journalist Tiffany Jow. Featuring speakers like David Rockwell, Yves Béhar, and Tom Dixon, the conversations explore cork’s role in the future of sustainable design.

Celebrating Emerging Talent
A student design competition highlights experimental cork concepts by finalists from Parsons and Politecnico di Milano—from floating pool mats to sensory lighting devices—proving cork’s versatility across furniture, toys, and wearable design.

Food & Drink Experience
Guests can enjoy sustainable wines and local bites from Château Miraval, Terre Margaritelli, illycaffé, Le Polveri, and more—making Casa Cork a destination for both design and delight.

A Call to Action
More than an exhibition, Casa Cork is a bold statement: sustainable design can be beautiful, innovative, and impactful.

As David Rockwell puts it, “We hope Casa Cork inspires architects and designers to rethink materials and embrace regeneration.”
