Through Fragments of the Past, Rama Dauhan Redefines The Modern Bridal Vocabulary

The collaboration between InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah and the Indonesian Fashion Designer Council (IPMI) unveils “The Love Letter,” interpreted through renowned designer Didi Budiardjo and young designer Rama Dauhan.

At Jakarta Fashion Week 2026, Rama Dauhan debuts his first bridal collection, Aku Berharga—a deeply personal tribute to love, loss, and legacy. The collection began with a quiet discovery at home: his late mother’s 50-year-old wedding gown, its faded lace still carrying a gentle warmth. Restoring it stitch by stitch, Rama found the heart of Aku Berharga: how something timeworn can shine again through care and tenderness.

From there, memories intertwined. Rama gathered remnants from brides he once dressed, fragments of vintage gowns, and cherished materials from his late friend Andi Yulianti of House of Jealouxy. Each piece—unique in color, texture, and story—forms a new harmony, a collage of intimate histories reimagined as contemporary bridalwear.

More than an upcycling experiment, the collection becomes an emotional reconstruction. Soft embroidery, scattered beads, three-dimensional florals, and subtle heart motifs animate silhouettes that move from fluid and ethereal to sculpted and youthful. The styling blends classic romance with modern whimsy—quirky yet refined, playful yet undeniably elegant.

Aku Berharga reminds us that beauty often emerges not from perfection, but from the courage to piece together what was once fragmented. It is a contemplation of love, friendship, grief, and renewal—dark yet tender, wistful yet warm.

The presentation is elevated by collaborations with byMader shoes, Aidan and Ice accessories, florals by Via Fleurs, and music by Donne Maula.

The collection is available for purchase or rental at the Rama Dauhan Design Studio in South Jakarta.
