A Project Between Design and Imagination

During Milan Design Week 2025, Nemo Lighting unveiled its 20000 installation concept, which was created by Alon Rotman for the Nemo Showroom MONFORTE. By fusing technological innovation with artistic creativity, the installation investigates the relationship between light and water.

Nemo

20000 invites visitors to explore a dimension where light and water interact through a play of refraction, reflection, and diffusion. It was inspired by Captain Nemo’s underwater world and Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

FontanaArte

The installation in the showroom emphasizes the relationship between physics, perception, design, and narrative through animations, sculptures, and lighting fixtures. Water acts as a lens through which light and space can be observed, offering fresh viewpoints on the lamps and light on exhibit.

Presented by Le Chateau Living

Three new designs by Tel Aviv designer Alon Rotman are on display: Dynasty, a chandelier that subtly reinterprets the classic model; Cupido, a desk lamp that investigates line and mass contrast; and Dori, a floor lamp that controls manual light.

ILTI Luce

In keeping with his Nemo research, Bernhard Osann introduces two new minimalist pieces: the Halyard pendant light and the Flamingo floor lamp. Both have a counterweight mechanism for even light movement.

Driade

Renowned Master of Design artists Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Piero Castiglioni, Roberto Menghi, Alvaro Siza, Roberto Paoli, and Rudy Ricciotti are among the famous Nemo pieces on display in the installation.

Reggiani

Similar to Jules Verne’s Nautilus, the installation 20000 highlights the journey of design as a way to investigate the invisible while also honoring light as a physical phenomenon and exploring its evocative power.
