At Milano Design Week 2025
At Milan Design Week 2025, Moleskine invites everyone to slow down and reconnect with their inner creativity. Held at BASE Milano (via Bergognone 34), the brand presents Unleash Your Genius—an immersive space that celebrates the simple, meaningful act of writing by hand.

In a world filled with screens and constant noise, handwriting offers something rare: focus, clarity, and a deeper emotional connection. Studies show that it helps us remember better, think more clearly, and feel more grounded. A blank page becomes a personal space—where ideas grow and our true thoughts can take shape.
With Unleash Your Genius, Moleskine returns to its roots: supporting creativity, self-expression, and the quiet power of pen on paper. It’s a reminder that even in a digital world, something as simple as handwriting can still unlock something extraordinary.

Exploring the landscape of imagination.
Exploring the landscape of imagination
“We’re excited to be part of Milan Design Week with this immersive installation,” says Christophe Archaimbault, CEO of Moleskine. “It’s a celebration of human creativity and the lasting power of pen and paper. We’re also hosting workshops that invite people to rediscover the joy of writing and drawing by hand.”

At BASE Milano, visitors can explore different forms of creative expression—from sketching and calligraphy to visual storytelling—across paper, digital, and even 3D media. It’s a space to experiment, play, and reconnect with the creative process in all its forms.

Tony Pignatelli’s origami brain
At the heart of the installation is a large origami sculpture by artist Tony Pignatelli, made entirely from Moleskine paper. Shaped like a human brain, it stands for the endless creativity of the mind and the strong link between writing by hand and thinking.

Around it, visitors can step into an open creative space where paper invites them to draw, write, fold, and explore ideas in their own way.
The wall of shared creativity
A wall made of Moleskine notebooks becomes a space for everyone to share. Each day, visitors add their thoughts, drawings, and ideas—turning it into a growing story about creativity and self-expression. With every page, the wall changes and comes to life.

Experiential Workshops
Throughout the event, a rich program of hands-on activities invites visitors to explore the connection between analog and digital creativity. Visitors can join fun, hands-on workshops throughout the event to explore how writing and drawing connect the worlds of paper and digital. Led by artists and calligraphers, the sessions are a chance to slow down, try new techniques, and enjoy the creative process—through handwriting, paper crafts, and lettering.
The experience also shows how Moleskine’s Smart Writing System and Smart Pen bring paper and tech together. Using Bluetooth® and special paper, anything you write by hand appears right away in the Moleskine Notes app. It’s not about replacing paper—it’s about making it even more powerful.
Bespoke experiences
In a special pop-up space, visitors can personalize their Moleskine items—celebrating the beauty of craft and self-expression.
Exclusive to Milan Design Week, the pop-up also offers a limited-edition creative kit made for Unleash Your Genius. Each kit includes a custom notebook and a precision pen, designed to make every page a space for inspiration and every mark a reflection of your unique creativity.
A dialogue for our times
Unleash Your Genius at Milan Design Week is Moleskine’s way of helping people reconnect in a fast-paced world. It celebrates handwriting as a hands-on, meaningful act that brings us closer to our own thoughts and ideas.
Here, thinking and movement become one. The Moleskine notebook stays a personal space—where time slows down and true expression can flow. Even with new digital tools, it remains a creative home to write, reflect, and explore.
