Marble’s unexpected Softness and Soul

In a captivating meeting of Italian mastery and London sophistication, Bufalini and Mint Gallery unveil Thinking in Marble 2025 — a collection by Paolo Ulian that transforms the timeless weight of Carrara marble into sculptural lightness and poetic form.

Presented during Mayfair Design District (Oct 13-31) at Mint’s London gallery, the exhibition Curios – an exhibition that reimagines materials and forms to create rare, unusual, and intriguing objects.

Bufalini presents three exclusive pieces designed by Paolo Ulian who explores Carrara marble as a living, breathing material — one that balances tradition, technology, and imagination.

Ulian’s three exclusive creations — Emersa, Velato, and Drap — redefine marble’s expressive potential. Emersa, a console with honeycomb precision, exposes what is usually hidden, turning voids into structure. Velato, a table marked by pleated traces of waterjet cuts, reveals the artistry in technological imperfection. Drap, a series of bowls inspired by fabric folds, brings a sense of motion to the stone’s stillness.

The collaboration celebrates marble not as a monument of permanence but as a medium of transformation — a dialogue between craftsmanship and innovation, where the material’s quiet strength meets the designer’s delicate touch.
