A Dialogue Between Reality and Cinematic Illusion
“With La Prima Notte di Quiete, Loro Piana and Dimoremilano invite visitors into a sensorial narrative where design becomes a cinematic sanctuary, beautiful designs spark in suspended moment of imagination and quiet”
For the first time, Loro Piana and Dimoremilano join creative forces at Milan Design Week 2025, presenting an evocative and immersive installation titled La Prima Notte di Quiete. Set within the storied walls of Loro Piana’s Cortile della Seta—the Maison’s Milanese headquarters—the installation blurs the boundaries between tangible reality and stylized cinematic reverie.

Rewatch Loro Piana and Dimoremilano for Milan Design Week 2025 – “La Prima Notte Di Quiete”:
As guests step into the courtyard, they enter a dreamlike mise-en-scène: a vintage cinema brought to life through lush, theatrical detailing. Deep red velvet curtains, leopard-print carpeting, and gleaming brass accents conjure a richly nostalgic atmosphere. This theatrical threshold gives way to an intimate, fully furnished domestic interior—an elegant home designed to both soothe and surprise.
The space is articulated through a sophisticated layering of design: newly created and iconic Dimoremilano furnishings upholstered in Loro Piana Interiors textiles, exclusive pieces designed by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran for Loro Piana Interiors, curated antiques, and objects from the Maison’s The Art of Good Living collection. Each room crafted in tones and textures that suggest memory, movement, and quiet introspection.
At the heart of the installation are unique pieces designed by Dimorestudio for Loro Piana Interiors, marking a significant evolution in the Maison’s design language. Highlights include the Quarona poufs and coffee tables, the dramatic Varallo round bed in plush Mohair velvet, and the Valsesia oval dining table—each crafted to invite touch and contemplation. Materials such as cashmere, wool, velvet, and sisal meet tempered glass and refined metalwork, infusing the space with both sensuality and structure. The Locarno cabinets—rendered in fabric and glass—offer an especially novel tactile experience.
This imagined home is animated not only by design, but by sound. A carefully composed audio landscape—curated by celebrated music composer and multimedia artist Nicola Guiducci—weaves subtle tension throughout the space. The ringing of a distant telephone, the melancholic notes of a piano, and the rhythmic fall of rain on windows create a cinematic hush: poised between stillness and emotion.
Further enriching the installation is the debut of Punti a Maglia, Loro Piana’s first tableware collection. Handcrafted in Limoges by a community of 50 skilled artisans, the porcelain pieces are adorned with a delicate matte gold motif—evoking interwoven threads that knot and loop across each surface. The design elegantly bridges French porcelain heritage with Loro Piana’s deep-rooted textile artistry, bringing a new dimension to the Maison’s philosophy of understated luxury.
