When Daniel Eltner speaks about VELLO D’ORO for Lithea, it’s as if he’s talking about a memory. The new collection begins in Crete, with the ancient Minoan double axe, and slowly turns that symbol into soft, flowing tiles you can run your hand across. Their curves echo dunes shaped by the wind, ripples under water, and the quiet rhythm of the sea.

Each piece is cut from Sicilian stone chosen as much for its feeling as for its colour — the depth of Pietra Pece, the warmth of Crema Tunisi, the fire of Rosso Diaspro, the lushness of Forest Green, the light of Bianco Fenice, and the coolness of Bardiglio Imperiale. Together, these stones form a tactile mosaic that hints at Etna’s lava and rock layers, the greens and fruits of cacti, drifting clouds, and open water.

More than just a surface, VELLO D’ORO feels like a woven net of stories. It ties together the myths, migrations, and meetings that have shaped the Mediterranean — Sicily as a crossroads of Greece, Phoenicia, the Normans, and more — and brings a piece of that layered, living culture into today’s spaces.
