The 250 square meter laCividina Showroom in Milan has been advancing the culture and design of Made in Italy upholstery for nearly 50 years. The area, which is 250 square meters and features a natural succession of rooms that can be altered to suit needs, is situated in Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda. Nature and its hues are the main characters in this warm and welcoming space. The interior design choices were chosen by Studio Salaris and were influenced by the historic home. The walls are painted in pastel and dusty hues.

The installation “SUSPENDED WEAVES: A STORY SEWN IN THE AIR”, which was on display at the laCividina showroom during Milan Design Week 2025, expertly blends the technical know-how and experience of the Friuli-based company with the artistic vision of Studio Salaris, which was established by Alessandra Salaris. The result of this synergy is a path made of matter and memory that goes with a story that is sewn in the air.

The rooms’ textile sculptures serve as a thread that weaves together connections and stories, evolving into a textile sculpture that tells a tale of comfort. Its passages signify continuity between body and living, its curves invite touch, and its weaves are references to manufacture. Visitors are led through the rooms by this gentle path, which establishes a concrete connection between form, space, and sensation.

Two new collections by Sabine Marcelis and Elisa Ossino were on display at Palazzo Borromeo D’Adda. Marcelis created the adaptable yet module-free Lisse system, which has a single continuous, fluid form that can be used in a variety of settings. It offers dynamic configurations ideal for contract and lounge settings, with an island in front of the backrest and movable components like poufs and seats. Mylla, a single-material recycled polyester fabric from the Febrik brand, is used to make the upholstery. laCividina processes it to create a surface free of visible seams. Combining creativity, adaptability, and beauty, Lisse embraces softness and flexible design.

The Acamante collection by Elisa Ossino explores modularity through a dynamic, layered design. The sofa’s lacquered multilayer or fabric base supports overlapping upholstered elements. Maximum comfort and flexibility in linear, corner, or island configurations are made possible by this design. The structure offers a comfortable seating experience by combining stability and progressive softness. The legend of Filide and Acamante, which is associated with Sicily and almond trees, is the source of the name Acamante. laCividina keeps innovating in the field of upholstered furniture by fusing research, craftsmanship, and fresh functional and aesthetic solutions.
