About the Theme “In Process”: The processes of making, thought, and design all share a common objective: to facilitate transition, representing a reaction to a preceding actions. The diversity of individual reactions within these processes, influenced by education, backgrounds, and cultures, adds a thrilling dimension to the creation journey. This diversity serves as a catalyst for variety and innovation, shaping the dynamic landscape of design and craft.
“In process for me is a journey of discovery. A discovery in life or in design is one and the same for me. Like any journey, it is not the end; there will be a next chapter yet to be experienced. It is exciting, and I look forward to it.” said Budiman Ong, Co-Founder of Jia Curated Kiosks.
Highlighting Collaborative Effort or Gotong Royong: The values of Gotong Royong are an integral part of Indonesian culture. This concept represents solidarity, communal cooperation, and mutual assistance within society. Utilizing Gotong Royong as a crucial element, Jia Curated Kiosks becomes a reflective mirror, showcasing the extension of the creative process beyond individual efforts. It pays homage to Indonesia’s cultural heritage, transforming into a platform that not only exhibits design and craftsmanship but also strengthens social bonds, emphasizes collaboration, and celebrates the collective strength arising from the creative journey.
