The new Hemispheres Collection debut at Milan Design Week 2025

During Milan Design Week 2025, HOSOO Co., Ltd. introduced a new textile collection in collaboration with the Italian design team DIMORESTUDIO. The collection, which was displayed in OSANNA VISCONTI’s Atelier in medieval Milan, included her bronze pieces.

The 33 textiles in the Hemispheres Collection are based on more than 20,000 traditional obi patterns that the HOSOO family has passed down. After centuries of preservation, these motifs—originally uncolored sketches—have the potential for fresh imaginative interpretations. DIMORESTUDIO bridges the gap between tradition and modernity by reimagining these patterns in delicate, sophisticated hues.

The collection combines traditional and modern elements with motifs inspired by nature. A carefully chosen palette of subdued greys, sepia tones, smoky blues, and desaturated greens is used to reinterpret the fabrics, which are taken from the historic obi archive. A new aesthetic language is created through the use of color and artisanal skill, introducing Japanese tradition to a worldwide audience and demonstrating the harmonious coexistence of traditional and modern elements.

The Hemispheres Collection mixes Japanese heritage with Italian color sense, producing a timeless textile narrative that transcends time and inspires future aspirations.

Presentation in dialogue with OSANNA VISCONTI
At Osanna Visconti Atelier, HOSOO and DIMORESTUDIO have collaborated to create a classic beauty setting. The life cycle of the magnolia flower served as the inspiration for the Magnolia Collection, which is made of natural bronze. From the bud-like Sofa to the majestic Screen, Mirror, and Console, each piece represents a distinct stage of the plant’s blooming process. The collection creates a theatrical dialogue between the past and present by drawing inspiration from Japanese philosophy and its respect for impermanence and renewal. In a theatrical conversation, the elegant Milanese home displays craftsmanship and history.

The presentation also features the Bambù Cabinet in bronze, the Campanula Pendant Lamp, the Crinkle Stool, and the Damasco Stool. Both the Crinkle Stool and the Magnolia Sofa are upholstered with Hemispheres fabrics.
