At this year’s Salone del Mobile.Milano, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna (GTV) reaffirms its timeless design philosophy with a bold new collection, presented in a striking monochromatic pink pavilion. Designed by Verso Studio with styling by Paola Pastorini, the stand emphasizes form and materiality, housing new and iconic pieces in a seamless dialogue between heritage and innovation.

Leading the 2025 debut is Boomerang, a desk by legendary Italian designer Enzo Mari. Originally conceived in 2001, the piece pays homage to rationalist design with a gracefully curved beechwood base and a floating tempered-glass top—clear evidence of Mari’s commitment to purity of form and function.

The contemporary spirit continues with Ellipse, a modular sofa by Chiara Andreatti. Combining asymmetrical shapes and finely crafted wood accents, including options in Vienna straw or woven leather, Ellipse blurs the line between architectural precision and organic softness—hallmarks of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna’s evolving identity.

New York-based studio Antenna joins the collection with Kipferl, a curved, inviting dining chair originally designed for Vienna’s historic Konzerthaus. Inspired by the city’s famous crescent-shaped pastry, Kipferl translates classic bentwood techniques into a contemporary silhouette that is both familiar and forward-thinking.

Rounding out the novelties is Targa Petit by GamFratesi—a compact version of the celebrated Targa Lounge armchair. Designed for versatility across hospitality and residential settings, the piece retains its signature Vienna cane backrest and refined proportions, reimagined for smaller spaces.

Within the brand’s immersive pavilion, each design is showcased in context: from the soft-toned Ellipse lounge to a vibrant living room corner furnished with India Mahdavi’s Loop Lounge and Sergio Bicego’s Mon-Ile series. Visitors can also experience the contract-focused bistro area, populated with pieces by Nendo, Front, and Hoffmann, as well as the new Boomerang desk in a dedicated, contemplative space.
