The tradition is playfully recoded
In a defining moment for contemporary fashion, Jonathan Anderson unveiled his debut collection for Dior on June 27,2025 in Paris, signaling a striking new direction for the historic French maison. Held at the majestic Hôtel des Invalides, the show marked not just a change in creative leadership, but the beginning of a visionary chapter that marries Dior’s legendary refinement with Anderson’s eclectic, boundary-pushing style.

Anderson—now entrusts with Dior’s menswear, womenswear, and haute couture—took on the formidable task with characteristic flair. The collection explored a poetic duality: classic bar jackets and silk waistcoats were juxtaposed with oversized cargo shorts, puffed outerwear, and neon-accented knits. The result was a captivating interplay of 18th-century elegance and contemporary irreverence, brought to life through a carefully curated atmosphere inspired by the still-life of 18th-century French artist Jean Siméon Chardin paintings.

The accessories: the iconic Lady Dior bag was transformed by artist Sheila Hicks into a sculptural mass of linen ponytails, while the Book Tote was printed with classic book covers—from Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du Mal to Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood. These literary nods feel like part of a broader conversation: identity, and style as an expressive, living language.

The front row reflected the magnitude of the moment, with Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Daniel Craig, fashion luminaries like Donatella Versace, and, of course, Dior ambassadors SOOBIN, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU, and TAEHYUN from TOMORROW X TOGETHER, as well as MINGYU, APO NATTAWIN, and MILE PHAKPHUM, all in attendance. The industry turned out in full force to witness what many see as a generational shift at Dior.

Beyond aesthetics, this debut carries real significance: shifting market expectations.
