At the Jogja National Museum – June 20 to August 31,2025

ARTJOG returns this summer with the final chapter of its three-year thematic trilogy MOTIF, titled “Amalan”—meaning practice—running from June 20 to August 31 at the Jogja National Museum. Curated by Hendro Wiyanto, this year’s edition challenges the perception of art as purely aesthetic by positioning it as an active, transformative force within society.

Two commissioned installations headline the main exhibition: Anusapati repurposes scrap wood into a poetic reflection on environmental degradation, while REcycle-EXPerience, led by Evan Driyananda and Attina Nuraini, presents a giant robot made from donated, secondhand toys—inviting audience participation and collective meaning-making.

The Special Project program expands this ethos with participatory works by Murakabi Movement, ruangrupa, and DEVFTO Printmaking Institute, exploring themes from urban transformation to printmaking workshops and ecological intimacy.

A new program, Spotlight, bridges art with other creative disciplines. Notably, actor Reza Rahadian unveils Eudamonia, a multi-sensory installation marking his 20-year artistic career, in collaboration with acclaimed talents including Garin Nugroho, Andra Matin, and Davy Linggar.

As part of its longstanding inclusivity mission, ARTJOG strengthens its Love ARTJOG platform by partnering with Open Arms to host mini-residencies and peer mentoring for artists with disabilities—offering both visibility and support within the creative ecosystem.
