Bold Shapes, Unexpected Elements, and Bold Graphic Tone

Seletti, jenama desain figuratif Italia yang ternama di seluruh dunia karena semangatnya yang ironis, dan selalu menghadirkan produk-produk yang tidak konvensional, mempersembahkan CUT ‘N PASTE Collection. Koleksi ini  dirancang oleh desainer Belanda, Annebet Philips sebagai ‘keluarga’ besar objek Seletti seperti tempat lilin, lampu, jam, cermin, bingkai, dan rak.

Koleksi ini seluruhnya terbuat dari karton daur ulang dan selotip, dan konsepnya sejalan dengan karakter sang desainer yang dikenal menghasilkan karya dengan bentuknya yang berani, menggunakan elemen yang tidak terduga, serta nada grafis yang berani. Bagi Annebet, berkat material karton, keseluruhan produknya terasa ringan dan mudah digantung atau diletakkan, sementara garis kontras memberi tampilan grafis yang kuat. Dan, lapisan transparan ekstra memberikan kekuatan dan daya tahan koleksi.

“These materials, often used in the design process for making prototypes, actually turned out working pretty good for the end result. Thanks to the cardboard, the products are light and the lamps are easy to hang or place, while the contrasting tape gives them a strong, graphic look. Dimulai sebagai limited edition pieces, CUT ‘N PASTE sekarang menjadi bagian dari keluarga limited edition Seletti yang mudah diakses. Hadir untuk para pecinta desain, koleksi ini menegaskan filosofi demokrasi khas jenama tersebut. CUT ‘N PASTE Collection  terdiri dari 10 produk dan terbuat dari karton daur ulang. Menurut Annebet, alasan pemilihan material untuk koleksi ini karena sering digunakan dalam proses desain untuk membuat prototipe, dan ternyata hasil akhirnya  cukup bagus dan memuaskan.

“I immediately fell in love with Annebet’s works. I thought they were perfect for us. They carry with them that lightness which is not only material lightness, but also a conceptual one. CUT ‘N PASTE, with its lively and unique design, matches perfectly with the kaleidoscopic proposal by Seletti: Annebet Philips’ humor and creativity adds up to the other collaborations of the brand with international esigners and artists; among them, TOILETPAPER HOME in collaborations with TOILETPAPER – the image-only magazine by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari – and BLOW by Studio Job’s Job Smeets.
