“For this unique villa, our concept aimed to create an authentic experience that departs from traditional luxury. We embraced the beauty of the surrounding reservoir and the harbour to elevate the concept of contemporary luxury, combining European design with the beauty of nature and curated treasures. Villa Lucca is a unique development, at once connected to the city yet far away from its hectic pace. Our aim was to offer the future owner a tranquil, considered oasis for a life well-lived.” Tina Norden, Principal and Partner at Conran and Partners

Interiors and architecture practice Conran and Partners has completed of the interior design for 2 Lucca Avenue, a new private residence forming part of Villa Lucca, a low-density luxury residential development located in Hong Kong’s north-east New Territories region.

Commissioned by Hysan Development and HKR International, Conran and Partners designed the interiors, garden, and roof terrace of one of the ten villas with stunning views over Plover Cove Reservoir. Residents will also have access to Villa Lucca, a 34,000 sq ft private club offering indoor and outdoor swimming pools, humidor and tasting lounges, gym studio, dance studio and spa room as well as Grand Lucca banquet halls.

Conran and Partners redefined the idea of contemporary luxury in Hong Kong’s market by stepping away from conventional design aesthetics. The embodiment of authenticity and warmth, the residence seamlessly integrates European design elements that complement the surrounding natural scenery. Spanning over 5,341 sq ft, 2 Lucca Avenue features a carefully designed layout with four bedrooms, each accompanied by its own ensuite.

Stepping into the house, guests are greeted in a 7.2m-high foyer with a floor-to-ceiling window, complimented by natural stone and a large tapestry by Tamar Samplonius. The rest of the ground floor is then shared by the living, dining and kitchen areas, all of which face onto the outdoor garden with dramatic views.

The living area pays homage to Italian design with Vincent Van Duysen’s Octave Sofa for Molteni, Minottis Jensen Armchair and a vintage Metaphor Coffee Table by Martinelli, which are paired with a De Sede’s timeless Daybed DS-80 and backdropped by an artwork by Indian-born artist Srinjoy Gangopadhyay. The skilful use of materials adds warmth and serenity to the living space, enabling residents to experience profound tranquillity.

The dining area, dominated by a marble and wood custom-made table with Scandinavian seating and lighting from &Tradition and Verpan, is in axis with the outdoor water feature and the bar area that marks the kitchen boundary.

The custom-made Modulnova Kitchen, with dark-veneered cabinets and Carrara marble, features a central island that drives the eye to a cosy breakfast area with the iconic Eero Saarinen Table and Wishbone Chairs and to an outdoor tiered herb garden.

The front garden gracefully extends from the kitchen to the living and dining room, providing an ideal setting for memorable gatherings and social events, as guests can enjoy a unique connection to nature and uninterrupted views. Meticulously layered landscape planning creates an immersive experience, with a zen Japanese garden adjacent to the dining room and calming water features in the living room.

The four bedrooms are located on the first and second floor, with the master suite taking over the entirety of the second floor for a total of over 1400 sq ft including a cloakroom, a spacious dressing room and a private balcony overlooking the scenic Plover Cove Reservoir scenery. The entire suite is designed with collectors and connoisseurs in mind, as it offers privacy and the perfect setting to curate a collection of unique and meaningful items acquired during travels.

In collaboration with Dodds and Shute, a prominent UK-based procurement company, Conran and Partners has curated an exceptional selection of European design pieces to adorn the interior of 2 Lucca Avenue.
