AN OPULENT JOURNEY IN THE EAST by Geniusloci

You only have to hear the word “St. Regis” and it’s easy to conjure a clear picture of just how much comfort and luxury is being presented for its residents. Whether it’s the interior decoration in general or the elements in it exude a classic, elegant aura.

The St. Regis Residence in Singapore needs no introduction: as one of the larger duplex units in development, the spaces were comfortably spread out, with natural light that came in from the double volume glass windows. Coming up from the private lift, the journey starts there. Satin, finished light cream park avenue styled wall panels, denotes the formal yet casual expressions for what was yet to come.

Sugar & Cream had the opportunity to sit down with Alex Bayusaputro, Founder of Genius Loci, as the ‘brain’ behind the concept of this St. Regis Residence Singapore apartment. Read on to find out more details about each space.

THE LIVING HALL
As explained by Alex, the grand living hall created another level of opulence up by several notch. A double ceiling height living hall, furnished with Italian luxury brand Poltrona Frau accompanied by a grand Baccarat chandelier. Neutral satin palette wall panels, was a common sight throughout the space and into the adjacent hallways; not without leaving a statement of stately presence with a sudden twist of colour into natural dark stained wood.https://us.baccarat.com/en/lighting/

The space was accented with the playful patterned sheer curtain, that filtered the daylight and allowing a soft glow into the room. Other forms of colours elegantly filled the space thru contemporize art pieces and the customised floor rug of blue, gold, yellow and red.

THE DINING HALL

Cream pastel marble flowed into the dining hall, the entire space was fitting out with dark stained walnut panels, creating a sense of firmness. At the same time, a long day bed had been fitted snugly against the bay window, allowing the owner and he guest to peers over the city life below. Framed with timber, the bay window was enhanced and deep set, creating a greater sense of coziness.

Another Baccarat chandelier in the dining hall stands above the dining table with its prismatic reflection, creating a whimsical dining experience. A large stand alone dry kitchen counter with an automatic exhaust hood that pops up from the counter surface, which would make even the most esteemed chef feel spoiled by the perfect kitchen.

THE MASTER BEDROOM

Soft pastel colours were the choice for the master bedroom and the other guest rooms. The echo of the deep set framed bay window was repeated, but not without making the owners feel pampered, snuggled in comfort reading her favourite novel. On the opposite end of the divan, an accented ethnic wall covering framed in dark timber, hinted a of little intimacy and provided an alternate mix of materials.

Other bedrooms were also laden by the luxury and opulence. Wall to wall bay windows in every bedroom suites, with all the deep set window daybeds clearly being one of the high points of the space. The lavish and urbanite styles, reverberate in the fine finishes used. Coupled with a plush and heavenly bed brought together the ensemble of luxury and comfort.

THE LIVING HALL

Sebagaimana dijelaskan oleh Alex, living hall ‘melahirkan’ satu lagi tingkat kemewahan yang berbeda, terlihat dari langit-langit setinggi dua kali lipat dari biasanya yang dihiasi dengan merek premium asal Italia, Poltrona Frau, dan chandelier Baccarat yang tergantung megah. Panel dinding satin dengan palet netral adalah pemandangan yang umum ditemui di seluruh apartemen, meninggalkan kesan luks dengan hadirnya perubahan warna secara tiba-tiba, dari cerah menjadi gelap.

Ruang ini juga diberi aksen berupa tirai tipis dengan pola yang playful, menyaring sinar matahari dan memungkinkan cahaya lembut masuk ke dalam ruangan. Implementasi warna lainnya dapat dilihat melalui karya seni kontemporer serta warna customized rug seperti biru, emas, kuning dan merah.

THE DINING HALL

Batu marmer berwarna krem pastel menguak masuk ke dining hall, di mana seluruh ruangan berpadu dengan panel bernuansa dark stained walnut yang menciptakan kesan tegas dan kokoh. Di saat bersamaan, sebuah long day bed dipasang tepat di teluk jendela, yang memungkinkan pemilik untuk melihat-lihat ke kehidupan kota di bawah. Dibingkai dengan kayu, teluk jendela ini telah ditingkatkan fungsi dan tampilannya, hingga menciptakan suasana nyaman yang maksimal.

Chandelier Baccarat lainnya bergantung di atas meja makan, dan dengan bayangan prismatic-nya, membantu menciptakan pengalaman makan yang whimsical. Sebuah stand alone dry kitchen counter yang besar dengan kap mesin otomatis yang muncul dari balik counter, menunjukkan bahwa bahkan seorang koki ternama pun akan merasa dimanjakan dengan dapur yang begitu sempurna.

Warna-warna pastel nan lembut merupakan pilihan untuk master bedroom dan kamar tamu lainnya. Gema dari jendela teluk berbingkai kembali hadir di sini, membuat pemiliknya bisa merasa nyaman dan dimanja ketika membaca novel favorit. Di ujung lain dari dipan, penutup dinding etnik beraksen yang dibingkai kayu gelap, mengisyaratkan sedikit keakraban dan memberikan campuran bahan alternatif.

Kamar-kamar lainnya juga tak luput dari kesan penuh kemewahan. Bay windows terdapat di tiap kamar suite, dengan deep set window day beds sebagai daya tarik utama. Kehadiran plush dan tempat tidur seakan menerjemahkan kembali definisi kata luks dan nyaman.
